Dr. Claudia Holderegger McCormack has a keen interest in biomechanics as well as the neurological foundations of movement and the unbreakable connection of body and mind.
This passion has led her to complete all levels of the Spiraldynamik program in Switzerland and the SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) here in the USA. She has extensive training in soft tissue work, from ART (full body, 2009) to Graston Technique, Fascial Manipulation (Stecco, Italy, levels I-III), JF Barnes Myofascial Release (levels I and II), cupping and KinesioTape. She is currently studying advanced neurology with the AMN Academy.
Dr. Claudia’s patients come from all walks of life and activity levels. They share frustration due to limitations set by pain and injuries new or old. Frequently they have already tried a number of different treatments without satisfactory results.
Using her extensive orthopedic knowledge to assess both individual muscles or joints and regional or global movement patterns, Dr. Claudia emphasizes determining the cause and mechanism of her patient’s complaint. Her treatment recommendations are tailored to the patient’s condition and needs, and commonly include low-force manipulation, soft tissue work and targeted rehabilitative exercise. In addition, Dr. Claudia frequently seeks collaboration with other practitioners to achieve the greatest benefit to the patient. Treatment durations vary greatly based on the presenting problem and the patient’s own goals.
Dr. Claudia also has a special interest in working with patients who have scoliosis. This includes adolescents as well as adults, both those who choose to wear a brace, and those who do not. She is the preferred local doctor for patients in the SpineCor brace program. While chiropractic cannot reverse or stop scoliosis, maintaining mobility and strength in the spine and trunk musculature goes a long way in slowing the progression of the curves, reducing any problems arising from scoliosis, and helping patients be able to lead an active, pain-free life.
Dr. Claudia earned her chiropractic degree at the University of Western States and is certified by both the National and Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners. She has been in private practice since 2004.
In her free time, Dr. Claudia enjoys being outdoors, snuggling her cats, dog and husband, playing music, and chipping away at her latest woodworking project.
